The Parliament of the World’s Religions has asked me to present at its conclave, October 17, 2015 at 8:15am in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Dalai Lama is the keynote speaker. I am honored that the Parliament has asked me to speak on my favorite topic, “We are One (with all species).” And, to share my book, I Can’t Always See My Path…But I Keep On Walking.
The Parliament is an interfaith organization dedicated to the principle of respect and tolerance among all religions, a timely subject in today’s world. This global organization has not met in the United States for over 20 years. Its first meeting in the U.S. was in Chicago in 1893.
Past keynotes have been Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter and Bishop Tutu. The upcoming conclave is expected to draw over 10,000 people from all over the world and from a wide variety of spiritual traditions. My wife Prem will be attending the Women’s Assembly, a special event focused on the religious and spiritual inspiration for women’s empowerment, before the Parliament convenes.
There may be space left for those of you who might want to attend this important international meeting. And, my book may still be purchased through Amazon or my website. The theme of my book, a collaboration of my poetry and my nature photography, is “We are One”. Based on our connection to all species, I will be issuing a call for sacred action to address the universal problems of violence to one another and to our environment.
With gratitude,
Richard
